Lodging, Parking and Travel Information

The University at Buffalo is located in Amherst, NY a suburb just north of Buffalo. Buffalo is centrally located within a short drive of many major US and Canadian cities.

For a quick reference as to how far your institution is from UB, please use the map to the right with concentric circles drawn noting regions which are 100, 200 and 300 miles away from our campus. 

If you are interested in potentially carpooling to GSS, please send a brief e-mail with your full name, e-mail address you would like to contacted at, what institution you are driving from and how many people you could bring in your car to chemistrybuffalogss@gmail.com.

Other Options

Bus

Megabus- Inexpensive (prices ranging from as low as $1/one-way) to and from downtown Buffalo bus terminal and to the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. 

Greyhound- Prices vary, has a larger travel network than Megabus.

  Train  

Amtrak- Buffalo is serviced by two (2) Amtrak stations, both approximately 10 miles from campus. 

    Air    

The regional airport is the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport (Airport code: BUF) which includes most major airlines.

Parking

GSS 2023 will be hosted in the Natural Sciences Complex and Talbert Hall. Parking is available in Cooke A lot during the day, no permit is required for our event.
